Welcome to “Långershult”!
A fine, big house at gorgeous place:
• Traditional place, almost cultural heritage
• Have you own lake with pier and boat
• Fine surroundings
• Close to Astrid Lindgrens World
The farm ”Långershult” is originally from the 18th century, but has been adapted to modern times repeatedly. So now you have electrical stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee urn, electric handmixer, toaster, etc at your disposal in the kitchen, which has otherwise a flair of the 50ies. There is also a traditional wood oven in the kitchen, you can prepare meals on it or just use it for cosy warmth.
In the spacy living room you have a wood stove for cosy evenings. The living room is with its four windows from east to west very bright all day and you have two windows facing the lake. There is no TV in the house. There is one more, minor room filled with play material and games for children and also a stereo. The toilet/WC is placed in a newly built annex, accessable from the house and with an additional own entrance. In this annex you also have a washing machine and a freeze. The furniture is plain, mostly from the 30ies to the 50ies.
Via a narrow and steep staircase you enter the attic, which has been only partly renovated. Up there is a big sleeping room with a big doublebed and with a window to the lake, look here:
In the other half of the attic you have a bunkbed (1,2+0,8m) and two additional beds. Down in the living room there is a convertible sofa bed, so you can be 8 personas at this house with ease.
Please note: the attic has no insulation, up there it can be cold at spring and autumn! That’s why the house is not rented out at winter, and be aware that there can be cold nights both at spring and autumn.
Thank you for the wonderful visit to this peaceful place. We really enjoyed visiting, seeing the wild life and the beautiful lake! What a fantastic location for children. I was nice to learn about the history of this fine area. We hope to visit again. Warm and kind regards and all the best from USA / Finland. The farm has a beautiful courtyard which is hard to find in nowadays Sweden. It is a great environment for both children and adults, with lots of space and many things to discover. You can find reminiscences of house grounds, charcoal piles, tar piles, etc and you can take apples from 50+ year old appletrees in the garden.
Of course there is a BBQ, garden furniture and a rowboat incl lifevests at your disposal.
Place and surroundings:
This is a really great environment for both children and adults, with lots of space and many things to discover. Enjoy the lovely countryside of Småland at its best!
